Verified Credentials
Verified credentials are trusted digital proofs of your identity attributes issued by authoritative sources.
What Are Verified Credentials?
Unlike self-reported information, verified credentials are:
- Issued by trusted authorities (employers, governments, universities)
- Cryptographically signed (can't be forged)
- Stored on your device (you control them)
- Selectively shareable (reveal only what's needed)
Types of Credentials
Employment Credentials:
- Issued by your employer
- Proves current employment
- May include role/department
Education Credentials:
- Issued by universities/schools
- Proves degrees earned
- Includes field of study
Government Credentials:
- Issued by government agencies
- Proves citizenship/residency
- Age verification
Professional Credentials:
- Issued by certification bodies
- Proves certifications held
- Includes validity period
Adding a Credential
Via Employer/Organization:
- Your organization sends an enrollment link
- Tap the link on your mobile device
- Authenticate with AffirmID
- Credential is added automatically
Via QR Code:
- Scan the credential QR code
- Review the credential details
- Tap Add Credential
Viewing Your Credentials
- Open AffirmID
- Tap Identity tab
- View all your credentials
- Tap any credential for details
Credential Details
Each credential shows:
- Issuer - Who issued the credential
- Type - What it proves
- Issued date - When it was issued
- Expiry - When it expires (if applicable)
- Attributes - What information it contains
Removing a Credential
- Go to Identity → select credential
- Tap Remove Credential
- Confirm removal
Note: You can always re-add credentials from the issuer.
