Push Notifications Not Working
If you're not receiving push notifications, follow these troubleshooting steps.
Quick Checks

Is your phone connected to the internet?
- Try opening a webpage
- Switch between WiFi and cellular

Is Do Not Disturb off?
- Check your device settings
- AffirmID can override DND if enabled

Are notifications enabled for AffirmID?
- Go to device Settings → AffirmID → Notifications
iOS Troubleshooting
Check notification settings:
- Settings → Notifications → AffirmID
- Ensure "Allow Notifications" is ON
- Enable Banners, Sounds, Badges
- Enable "Critical Alerts" if available
Reset notifications:
- Settings → Notifications → AffirmID
- Toggle "Allow Notifications" OFF
- Wait 10 seconds
- Toggle back ON
- Open AffirmID and test
Background App Refresh:
- Settings → General → Background App Refresh
- Ensure AffirmID is enabled
Android Troubleshooting
Check notification settings:
- Settings → Apps → AffirmID → Notifications
- Ensure notifications are ON
- Check all categories are enabled
Battery optimization:
- Settings → Battery → AffirmID
- Select "Don't optimize" or "Unrestricted"
Check notification channel:
- Settings → Apps → AffirmID → Notifications
- Enable "Authentication Requests" channel
In-App Checks
- Open AffirmID
- Go to Settings → Notifications
- Tap "Test Notification"
- You should receive a test push
Refresh Push Token
- Go to Settings → About
- Tap "Refresh Push Token"
- Wait for confirmation
- Test again
Still Not Working?
If notifications still aren't working:
- Uninstall AffirmID
- Restart your device
- Reinstall from app store
- Sign in again
Alternative: Use TOTP codes as a backup until resolved.
