Fix issues with push notifications not arriving.

Push Notifications Not Working

If you're not receiving push notifications, follow these troubleshooting steps.

Quick Checks

  1. Is your phone connected to the internet?

    • Try opening a webpage
    • Switch between WiFi and cellular
  2. Is Do Not Disturb off?

    • Check your device settings
    • AffirmID can override DND if enabled
  3. Are notifications enabled for AffirmID?

    • Go to device Settings → AffirmID → Notifications

iOS Troubleshooting

Check notification settings:

  1. Settings → Notifications → AffirmID
  2. Ensure "Allow Notifications" is ON
  3. Enable Banners, Sounds, Badges
  4. Enable "Critical Alerts" if available

Reset notifications:

  1. Settings → Notifications → AffirmID
  2. Toggle "Allow Notifications" OFF
  3. Wait 10 seconds
  4. Toggle back ON
  5. Open AffirmID and test

Background App Refresh:

  1. Settings → General → Background App Refresh
  2. Ensure AffirmID is enabled

Android Troubleshooting

Check notification settings:

  1. Settings → Apps → AffirmID → Notifications
  2. Ensure notifications are ON
  3. Check all categories are enabled

Battery optimization:

  1. Settings → Battery → AffirmID
  2. Select "Don't optimize" or "Unrestricted"

Check notification channel:

  1. Settings → Apps → AffirmID → Notifications
  2. Enable "Authentication Requests" channel

In-App Checks

  1. Open AffirmID
  2. Go to Settings → Notifications
  3. Tap "Test Notification"
  4. You should receive a test push

Refresh Push Token

  1. Go to Settings → About
  2. Tap "Refresh Push Token"
  3. Wait for confirmation
  4. Test again

Still Not Working?

If notifications still aren't working:

  1. Uninstall AffirmID
  2. Restart your device
  3. Reinstall from app store
  4. Sign in again

Alternative: Use TOTP codes as a backup until resolved.
